When we are at work, we would like to think that we and our belongings are in a safe and secure place and we don’t have to worry. Unfortunately, this was not the case for a worker in Phoenix who first noticed his car keys were missing, and then went out to the parking lot to find his 2013 Volkswagen Passat gone. It’s a pretty sure bet that the VW’s owner was glad he had the LoJack® System installed when purchasing his car just 3 months ago. LoJack gave local law enforcement the help to find the Passat in less than a half hour after activation.

The VW’s owner contacted Phoenix Police to report the stolen car. Officers verified the theft and entered the stolen vehicle information into the local and national police computer systems. The LoJack unit concealed in the vehicle, which was installed at Volkswagen of North Scottsdale was then automatically activated.

A short while later, Arizona Department of Public Safety officers began picking up the silent signal from the Passat with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicle. The officers were led to an apartment complex on N. 28th Drive, where the car was parked and abandoned. The Passat was soon returned to its grateful owner.
