This case involves the theft of a 2011 Jeep Wrangler whose owner had just died. Luckily, the owner’s family notified local law enforcement, so they could activate the installed  LoJack® system and quickly return it to his grieving loved ones.

On June 20th, 2013, the Jeep owner’s family discovered that his Wrangler had been stolen from inside the garage of his home.  They contacted the Westminster PD to report the burglary and auto theft.  The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Jeep, which was installed at Auto Nation Chrysler Jeep West in Golden, CO.

A short time later, officers with the Westminster PD, Mountain View PD and the Colorado State Patrol picked up the homing signals from the Wrangler on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers tracked the vehicle to the 8700 block of Quigley where it was found parked and abandoned.  The Jeep was soon returned it to the very relieved family.
