Nothing ruins a perfectly nice late spring afternoon like having your vehicle stolen. The Fresno, CA residents in this case found this out when their Honda Civic was taken. It was a good thing that they had the LoJack® system installed when they purchased their car, so their local police were able to recover it for them in only one hour and 47 minutes after activation.

On June 5th, 2013, the owner of a Honda Civic contacted the Fresno Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The Fresno Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Honda, which was installed at Honda World in Westminster, CA.

A short while later, an investigator with Fresno HEAT ATTF (Auto Theft Task Force) picked up the homing signals from the Honda with the LoJack tracking computer installed in his undercover vehicle. He tracked the vehicle to the parking lot of an apartment complex in north Fresno. The Civic was found abandoned with only minor damage. It was soon returned to its very grateful owner.
