It’s tough enough just getting up to go to work on the day after a holiday weekend. Finding out that your vehicle has been stolen makes this situation even worse. These Las Vegas, NV residents had this happen the day after Memorial Day, but, with the help of the LoJack® system, their Chevrolet Avalanche was recovered by local law enforcement in just over a half hour after it was activated.

On May 28th, 2013, the Avalanche’s owners called Las Vegas Metropolitan Police to report their Chevy was missing from their residence.   After verifying the theft, LVMP entered the vehicle’s information into the NCIC stolen vehicle system. This automatically activated the hidden LoJack unit, which was installed at Jimmy Johnson Chevrolet in San Diego, CA.

A short time later, officers with the with the LVMP Downtown Area Command began picking up the homing signal from the stolen Avalanche on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The vehicle was recovered undamaged near S. Mojave Road in downtown Las Vegas.   It was soon returned to its very grateful owner.
