The Lynnwood, WA resident in this case got to spend the morning at home one Wednesday, but the relaxed feeling didn’t last long, because when the owner went outside to enter his Mercedes Benz R350 just before lunch, it was gone. Thanks to his local police and the LoJack® system, the car was recovered in less than two hours after activation.

This Mercedes R350 was stolen during the night from the owner’s residence. On June 5th, 2013, it was reported to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office who verified the theft and entered the VIN (vehicle identification number) into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Mercedes, which was installed at Fletcher-Jones Mercedes in Las Vegas, NV.

A short while later, a Washington State Patrol Cessna flying over Snohomish County received the homing signal transmitting from the stolen Mercedes on the LoJack tracking computer installed in the airplane.  The pilot located the Mercedes in the area of 53rd Avenue West and Picnic Point Road.  The location was relayed to ground troopers who recovered the R350 and returned it to its very grateful owner.
