Vehicle thieves often think that transporting a stolen car, truck, van or motorcycle across state lines will make getting caught less likely. This is not so when the vehicle in question is protected by the LoJack® system, as demonstrated in this next case, where a motorcycle stolen in Philadelphia, PA is tracked by law enforcement in Fairfax, VA.

On June 7th, 2013, the Suzuki’s owner reported the theft to Philadelphia Police. Officers verified the theft and entered the motorcycle’s information into the Pennsylvania State Police Computer. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the GSX-R600, which was installed at Philadelphia Cycle Center in Philadelphia, PA.

A short while later, Fairfax, VA Police received the homing signal from the Suzuki on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. They tracked the bike to an address on Little River Turnpike, where the vehicle was recovered and one suspect arrested. The motorcycle was soon returned to its relieved owner.
