It’s pretty safe to assume that the Louisville, CO residents in this next case really didn’t want to spend their Friday afternoon worrying about their stolen Honda Civic. Thanks to local police and the LoJack® system, they didn’t have to worry long, because their car was recovered in only 18 minutes after activation.

On June 14th, 2013, the owners of a Honda Civic contacted the Louisville PD to report that their vehicle had been stolen. Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Civic, which was installed at Frontier Honda in Longmont, CO.

A short while later, officers with the Louisville PD picked up the homing signals from the Honda with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  When police approached the vehicle, the suspect and four passengers abandoned the car and fled on foot. The Civic was recovered undamaged and soon returned to its happy owner, who was doubly grateful since this is the second time his car has been stolen and recovered by Louisville Police assisted by the LoJack system.
