Sunday is a great day to sleep a little longer- unless you wake up and find that your vehicle is stolen. This sad circumstance happened to a North Las Vegas, Nevada resident, who was glad he opted to have the LoJack® system installed when he purchased his Toyota Corolla, so local police were able to track it down in only 67 minutes after activation.

On May 26th, 2013, the Corolla’s owner contacted the North Las Vegas Police to report his car had been stolen from his residence. After verifying the theft, NLVPD entered the Toyota’s information into the NCIC “Stolen Vehicle System” which automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the car, which was installed at Hamer Toyota in Mission Hills, CA.

A short time later, officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police began picking up the homing signal from the Corolla on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol cars. The car was found in Las Vegas, parked and abandoned. The undamaged Toyota was soon returned to its happy owner.
