The thief who stole the Cadillac Escalade in our next case was hoping “what’s stolen in Vegas stays in Vegas”, but the perpetrator wasn’t betting on the LoJack® system, which the owners had purchased and the local police utilized to retrieve the Escalade in just 64 minutes after activation.

The Escalade’s owners last saw their SUV on Friday evening, June 7th, 2013, when they parked their Caddy after arriving in Las Vegas. When they were preparing to depart Sunday morning, the vehicle was not where they had left it. The visitors contacted Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, who verified the theft and entered the VIN (vehicle identification number) into their stolen vehicle computer system. This automatically activated the hidden LoJack unit in the Escalade, which was installed at Massey Cadillac in Downey, CA.

A short time later, officers with both the North Las Vegas Police and the LVMP began picking up the homing signal from the SUV with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Escalade was found undamaged and abandoned, and was soon returned to its very grateful owners.
