This North Carolina resident drove all the way to Las Vegas to visit, only to have his Volkswagen Jetta stolen from a friend’s home. Luckily, he not only brought his car to Vegas, but the LoJack® system hidden inside as well, so local police were able to track down his car in only 53 minutes after activation.

During the early evening hours of May 10th, 2013, the Jetta’s owner had their car taken from a residence in North Las Vegas, NV.  The owner immediately contacted North Las Vegas Police, who verified the theft and entered the VW’s information into their stolen vehicle computer system. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit hidden in the Jetta, which was installed at Fairfax Volkswagen of Fairfax, VA.

A short time later, an officer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police began picking up the homing signal from the stolen Jetta on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol car. The officer quickly tracked the car near the 7000 block of Fence Jumper in Northwest Las Vegas. The VW was quickly returned to its relieved owner.
