The Colorado Springs, CO residents in our next case probably had better things to do on a Friday afternoon then worry about their stolen Honda Civic. Unfortunately, the low-life who stole it had other ideas. The victims must have been glad they had the idea to install the LoJack® system when they bought their Honda, so local law enforcement was able to retrieve their stolen car in less than two hours after activation.

On May 31st, 2013, the Civic’s owners contacted the Colorado Springs PD to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Honda, which was installed at Shack-Findlay Honda in Henderson, NV, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers with the Colorado Springs PD and the Southern Colorado RATT (Regional Auto Theft Task Force) team picked up the homing signals from the Civic with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers located the Honda which was parked and abandoned. The owners were very happy when their Civic was soon returned to them.
