The Brooklyn resident in our next case was extremely grateful when local law enforcement, assisted by the LoJack® system, tracked down his stolen Honda Civic and he got it back undamaged.

On May 29th, 2013, the Honda’s owner contacted the New York Police 60th precinct to report that his vehicle was stolen from in front of his Coney Island, Brooklyn residence. Officers verified the theft and entered the Honda’s information into the NYPD stolen vehicle computer. The LoJack unit, which was installed at Bay Ridge Honda in Brooklyn, NY, was then automatically activated.

A short time later, officers from the Brooklyn South Auto Larceny Unit picked up the homing signal from the Civic on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol units. They tracked the car to a residential street in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. After a short surveillance, three males entered the vehicle. The police arrested them before they had a chance to drive away. The Before they had a chance to drive away the Police closed in on them and arrested them, thereby avoiding a dangerous pursuit.  The suspects were taken into custody without incident. The Honda’s owner was elated that his vehicle was recovered so quickly, especially in good condition. He further stated that he was grateful that he had LoJack on his vehicle feeling that if it wasn’t for LoJack his vehicle may never have been recovered.
