How did this California resident feel when his Ford Expedition was stolen? It’s likely that he was angry at the thieves, and frustrated by the whole situation, but we’re sure he felt a little hopeful as well because he had a LoJack® system installed when he purchased his SUV, which helped his local law enforcement track it down in only one hour and 47 minutes after activation.

On May 3rd, 2013, the Expedition’s owner contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department in Vista to report that his vehicle was stolen. SDCSD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Ford, which was installed at Longo Toyota in El Monte, CA.

A very short time later, officers from Carlsbad PD picked up the homing signals from the SUV on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  The officers tracked the vehicle to a motel parking lot, located at Rain Tree and Poinsettia Street.  The officers saw three persons in the vehicle.  Two male suspects and a female were arrested. The owner was very happy to have his undamaged Expedition returned to him.
