Automobile dealerships are not just vendors of the LoJack® system- often, they are purchasers as well. In this case, a customer rental vehicle is stolen from a dealer, and local law enforcement, with help from LoJack, made a rapid recovery.

On April 15th, 2013, the dealership contacted the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to report a 2013 Nissan Altima stolen from their premises. This particular vehicle was a rental vehicle used for their customers. The responding officer entered the Nissan’s information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Altima.

A short time later, Boynton Beach police officers picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicle. The officers located the vehicle abandoned, in the parking lot of a restaurant in Boynton Beach. The Altima was recovered and soon returned to the dealership.
