The Miami Beach residents in this case were dismayed when their 2007 Ford F-350 was taken from their home just before lunchtime on May 23rd, 2013. They did have one advantage in their favor- there was a LoJack® system installed on their truck, so local law enforcement was able to recover it in less than two hours!

The F-350’s owner contacted Miami Beach Police to report that their vehicle was stolen. The responding officer entered the truck’s VIN (vehicle identification number) into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Ford, which was installed at Palmetto Ford Truck in Miami, FL.

A short while later, Hialeah, FL police detectives picked up the homing signal from the stolen Ford F-350 on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicle. They located the truck near W 2nd Avenue and 19th Street, where it was recovered. The Ford was soon returned to its very relieved owners.
