It’s not always a stranger who steals your vehicle. Sometimes it’s a friend, a relative, or, as in this case, the friend of a relative. No matter who has taken your car, truck, van or motorcycle, the LoJack® system will help local law enforcement track it down and get it back to you- fast!

On Saturday, March 9th, 2013, the owner of a Toyota Tundra pickup contacted the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to report that her vehicle was stolen. The owner’s brother and his girlfriend from North Carolina had been staying with her for the past 6 months. One of the keys to her pickup truck was missing along with her brother’s girlfriend, who does not have a driver’s license. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and entered the Tundra’s information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Tundra, which was installed at Palm Beach Toyota in West Palm Beach, FL.

A short while later, a PBCS K-9 deputy picked up the homing signal from the Toyota on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer tracked the truck to Nor Joe Terrace, where he observed 2 occupants in the vehicle. Upon arrival of backup, the suspects were arrested. The Tundra was soon returned to its very relieved owner.
