This Dallas, Texas resident made two mistakes when parking his Lincoln Town Car at his apartment complex. The first is that he forgot to lock it after he parked it; the second is leaving his spare keys in the glove box. It’s a good thing that he made the smart decision to have the LoJack® system installed when he bought his car. This helped his local law enforcement recover his stolen vehicle in less than one hour!

On May 15th, 2013, the Lincoln’s owner contacted Dallas Police to report that his vehicle was stolen. Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Town Car, which was installed at Sewell Village Cadillac in Dallas, TX.

Just a few minutes later, Dallas PD officers picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the Lincoln traveling westbound in the 3900 block of Fury.  Officers were able to stop the car and arrest the driver. The undamaged Town Car was soon returned to its relieved owner.
