While these Washington state residents were checking out the stores at a mall, their Acura Integra was being checked out of the parking garage by a thief. However, these shoppers had made a smart purchase when they had the LoJack® system installed in their vehicle, so local law enforcement was able to recover it only 22 minutes after activation!

This Acura was stolen from the third floor of the parking garage at the Northgate Mall in Seattle.  When the owner returned to the car, it was gone.  Video cameras in the garage recorded the theft and suspects. The theft was reported to the Seattle Police who entered the VIN (vehicle identification number) into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Acura, which was installed at Honda of Seattle, WA.

Just a few minutes later, both Lynnwood and Mill Creek PD officers received the homing signal from the stolen Acura on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  They tracked the moving vehicle to the city of Shoreline. The Integra was stopped and the suspect fled on foot, but was quickly apprehended by a K9 unit. The Acura was soon returned to its happy owner.
