Imagine you wake up suddenly in the middle of the night and decide to peek out the window- and your vehicle is gone. That’s what happened to this Oklahoma City, OK resident when he discovered his Ford F-150 pickup was missing. It’s a good thing the truck owner decided to have the LoJack® system installed upon purchase, so local law enforcement were able to get it back to him quickly.

On May 24th, 2013, the truck’s owner contacted the Oklahoma City Police Department to report the vehicle was stolen from his residence. OCPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the F-150, which was installed at Dobbs Ford in Memphis, TN, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, an officer with the OCPD’s Spring Lake Division picked up the homing signal from the Ford on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle.  The officer was able to quickly locate the stolen Ford in the 1500 block of N.E. 48th in Oklahoma City, parked and abandoned.  The truck was soon returned to its very happy owner.
