In this next case, the victim of an assault has his car keys forcibly taken and his Chrysler Crossfire stolen. The LoJack® system that was installed when the car was purchased helped the Chicago Police track it down quickly and give this victim some good news on an otherwise bad day.

On May 5th, 2013, the Crossfire’s owner was involved in a domestic dispute. He was attacked and his set of keys were taken. The suspect then stole his car. Chicago Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle’s VIN (vehicle identification number) into their state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Chrysler, which was installed at Anaheim Mitsubishi in Anaheim, CA.

A short while later, police began picking up the homing signal from the stolen vehicle on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicles. The undamaged Crossfire was found parked and unoccupied, and was soon returned to its very grateful owner.
