When a car theft victim has their vehicle retrieved by police helped by the LoJack® system, they feel pretty pleased that they chose to have LoJack installed upon purchase. The Georgia resident in our next case didn’t have to wait long to feel pleased- his 2013 Toyota Camry was stolen just ONE MONTH after he purchased his car and his LoJack unit!

On May 10th, 2013, the Camry’s owner reported to the Gwinnett County, GA police that it had been stolen from his employer’s parking lot. The police dept. verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the car, which was installed at Atlanta Toyota in Duluth, GA.

A short time later, a Georgia State Patrol trooper began receiving a homing signal from the Camry on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The trooper tracked the Toyota to a shopping mall area and found it parked and abandoned near a vacant store.  The Camry was soon returned to its relieved owner.
