In this case, a victim’s work truck was stolen from his residence and recovered by police in 73 minutes assisted by the LoJack® System. On May 19th, 2013, the owner of a construction company noticed that his Ford F-350 work truck had been stolen from his home in Hayward CA.  He contacted the Alameda County Sheriff’s Dept., who verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Ford, which was installed at Serramonte Ford in Colma, CA.

A short while later, California Highway Patrol (CHP) Aviation Unit H32 picked up the homing signals from the F-350 while patrolling over the East Bay. CHP contacted San Leandro PD and assisted in tracking of the stolen truck, which was parked and abandoned on a side street in San Leandro. The stolen Ford F-350 was soon returned to its grateful owner.
