These California residents had some hard luck when visiting Las Vegas- not at the casino but in their hotel parking lot. They had checked in after midnight, and when they went to use their Ford F-350 later that morning, it was gone. The truck’s owners were smart enough to take a sure bet when they purchased their pickup- they had a LoJack® system installed, which gave the police much better odds to retrieve it.

On May 12th, 2013, the F-350’s owners contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report the theft. LVMP entered the car’s information into their stolen vehicle computer. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the truck, which was installed at Mossy Ford in San Diego, CA.

A short while later, officers with both the LVMP and the Nevada Highway Patrol began picking up the homing signal from the Ford with the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol cars. They located the F-350 in a residential area near North 9th Street and E. Mesquite Avenue, a little over five miles away from where it was stolen. The undamaged pickup was soon returned to its very lucky owners.
