Companies that rent vehicles have a lot of work on their plate- scheduling, maintenance, customer service- so when a rental unit is not returned as promised, it can really mess up their business. That is why so many rental companies choose to install the LoJack® system on their cars, trucks and vans- to help their local police retrieve and return their assets fast!

On May 10th, 2013, a large commercial rental company determined that a Ford E Series Super Duty 4X2 nrental truck had not been returned as scheduled, and contacted the Schaumberg, IL Police to report it stolen. Schaumberg PD verified the theft and entered the truck’s VIN (vehicle identification number) into their local and federal crime computers. This immediately activated the LoJack device concealed in the truck, which was installed at ABC Truck Upfitting in Oakwood Village, OH.

A short time later, police in Country Club Hills and Oak Lawn began receiving the homing signals from the stolen truck on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. They determined the E Series was headed towards Chicago and alerted police there. Chicago PD recovered the undamaged Ford and soon returned it to the relieved rental company.
