When you are purchasing a new car, the LoJack® System may sound like ‘just another option’.  However, this Ridgewood, NY resident learned her investment in LoJack was money well spent when her parked Toyota Camry was stolen just down the street from her workplace.

On May 11th, 2013, the Toyota’s owner contacted the NYPD 83rd precinct in Ridgewood, NY, to report that her vehicle was missing. The officers entered her VIN (vehicle identification number) into the NYPD stolen vehicle computer system. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed on her Camry, which was installed at Westbury Toyota in Westbury, NY.

A short while later, officers from the Queens North Auto Larceny Unit picked up the homing signal from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicle. They tracked the Toyota to a residential street where it was found parked and abandoned. The vehicle was recovered in excellent condition, and soon returned to its elated owner, who stated she never thought she would see her Camry again, and that her purchase of the LoJack system was ‘well worth the money’.
