When the LoJack® system is activated in order to track a stolen car, truck, van or motorcycle, the vehicle will send homing signals in ANY state with LoJack coverage, not just the state it was activated in.  In this case, a stolen 2010 Harley Davidson XL was stolen in Philadelphia, PA, taken to Delaware and still recovered by police in less than two hours.

On April 24th, 2013, the Harley’s owner contacted the Philadelphia Police Department to report that their motorcycle had been stolen from in front of their residence. The officer entered the bike’s VIN (vehicle identification number) into the Philadelphia Police Computer System. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the motorcycle, which was installed at Barb’s Harley Davidson in Mount Ephraim, NJ.

A short while later, officers from the New Castle County, Delaware Police picked up the homing signals from the stolen XL on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the vehicle to Wilmington, DE, where they observed it being operated by a male. They stopped the Harley, took the suspect into custody, and soon returned the bike to its relieved owner.
