Tracking down a stolen vehicle is a matter of teamwork. Your local police work with the LoJack® System as well as other branches of law enforcement to track your car, truck, van or motorcycle as quickly as possible. The teamwork in this case resulted in a stolen minivan’s recovery in only 45 minutes after the LoJack unit was activated.

On the morning of May 1st, 2013 the owner of 2006 Toyota Sienna discovered that her vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of her Alameda apartment. She contacted the Alameda Police, who verified the crime information and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit in her Sienna, which was installed at Haywood Toyota in Haywood, CA, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, helicopter officers from the East Bay Regional Parks Police picked up the homing signals from the stolen minivan with their onboard LoJack tracking computer. The EBRP police radioed Alameda Police with the location of the Sienna. It was parked on a side street a few miles from the owner’s home. Alameda officers recovered the undamaged Toyota and soon returned it to its happy owner. This is the second time this vehicle was stolen in the last year.  It was previously stolen in August of 2012 and recovered in less than one hour with the assistance of the LoJack system by the Oakland police.
