The primary goal of the LoJack® system is to assist police in retrieving a stolen car, truck or motorcycle. Sometimes, it’s not only one vehicle that’s recovered, but several. In this case, a stolen Isuzu box truck leads police to SIX other stolen trucks and a possible ‘chop shop’ in just 16 minutes after activation!

On Wednesday, March 13th, 2013, the owners of a Isuzu refrigerated box truck contacted the West Palm Beach, FL Police to report that their vehicle was stolen from their place of business. West Palm Beach PD entered the vehicle’s information into their state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the truck, which was installed at Auto Shield The Alarm Place in Miami, FL.

Just a few minutes later, Miami-Dade PD officers picked up the homing signal from the Isuzu on the LoJack tracking computer installed in their patrol vehicles.  The truck was recovered in a repair and storage facility on NW 69th Street. Further investigation recovered six other trucks, stolen from various Florida locations, in a suspected illegal vehicle parts business or ‘chop shop’.  The Isuzu was soon returned to its owners.
