This case involves a 2011 Honda stolen from Virginia that was recovered in Washington, DC in less than 90 minutes after activation by local police assisted by the LoJack® system, which the owners had the foresight to have installed in their Insight.

On April 19th, 2013, the Honda’s owners contacted the Alexandria, VA Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen overnight from their residence. The Alexandria PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Insight, which was installed at Landmark Honda in Alexandria, Virginia.

A short while later, detectives from the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC picked up the homing signals from the stolen Honda on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The detectives tracked the vehicle to the area of Stanton Road and Savannah Street SE, where they pulled over the car vehicle and arrested the suspect. The Insight was soon returned to its owner.
