Harris County, Texas Sheriff’s Department Recovers Stolen Chevrolet Suburban with the Help of the LoJack® System

After a long, tough day at work, we all look forward to getting into our vehicles and heading home. The commute gives us a little time to turn on the radio and decompress a little. Unfortunately, this Texas resident got more stress instead of less when he left work to find his Chevrolet Suburban missing from his employer’s parking lot.

This all occurred on April 16th, 2013. The victim immediately alerted Houston Police. Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack® unit concealed in the Suburban, which was installed at Davis Chevrolet/Geo in Houston, TX.

A short while later, deputies from Harris County Sheriff Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen Suburban on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the Suburban to a strip mall parking lot where it was abandoned. The vehicle was soon returned to its grateful owner.
