A thief may break into your vehicle to steal it, but, since the LoJack® unit is concealed somewhere inside your vehicle, the criminal does not know it’s there- until the police have tracked him down and arrested him!

On April 16th, 2013 the owner of a 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche pickup contacted the Harris County, Texas Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their apartment parking lot.  The owner discovered broken door lock and parts of an ignition in his assigned parking space.

Harris County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Chevrolet pickup, which was installed at Munday Chevrolet/Geo in Houston, TX.

A short while later, officers from Houston Police Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen pickup on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the pickup to an apartment complex parking lot several miles away. The pickup sustained entry and ignition damage but was otherwise in good shape. The owner was happy to have his Avalanche returned to him.
