Whether you live in the city, the country, or the suburbs, there is always the chance that your vehicle can be stolen, even if it’s parked on or near your own property. The best way to be prepared for this situation is to have the LoJack® System installed, to help your local police in getting your car back to you!

On April 9th, 2013, the owner of a Ford Explorer contacted the New York Police Department’s 47th precinct to report his vehicle was stolen while parked near his residence in the Bronx.  The officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. The LoJack device concealed in the Explorer, which was installed at Quality Ford in Mount Vernon, NY, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, detectives from NYPD’s Auto Crime Division, picked up the homing signals from the Explorer on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked and located the unoccupied vehicle inside a commercial lot. The Explorer was soon returned to its happy owner.
