The LoJack® System, working in conjunction with your local police department, is a great way to protect your personal vehicle from a thief, but cars, trucks and motorcycles are not the only things LoJack protects. There are also LoJack devices that protect commercial vehicles and construction equipment, as illustrated in the following example.

On April 11th, 2013,  a California equipment rental company received an order for a 2011 Sullivan 185 Air compressor. The unit was dropped off at a vendor in the city of Lodi, CA. It was then determined the rental was made via fraudulent means and the suspect picked up the compressor and fled. The local police were contacted, a theft report was completed, and the compressor information was entered into the police crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the compressor.

A short while later, investigators with the Delta Regional Auto Theft Task Force (Delta RATT) in San Joaquin County received a homing signal from the air compressor on the LoJack tracking computers in their patrol vehicles, and were able to locate the stolen Sullivan abandoned in a motel parking lot. The 185 was soon returned to the rental company.
