Houston, Texas Police Recover Stolen Toyota Camry with the Help of the LoJack® System

It’s a terrible thing when your vehicle is stolen. Your emotions range from anger to frustration to, worst of all, feeling violated. One way for you to ease a little of the pain is to have a LoJack® installed when you purchase your car, truck, or motorcycle, to give your local police some extra help in recovering what’s yours.

On April 10th, 2013, the owners of a 2011 Toyota Camry contacted the Harris County, TX Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence. Harris County SD deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers. The LoJack unit, which was installed at CarMax #7111 in Houston, TX, was then automatically activated.

A short while later, officers from Houston Police Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen Toyota on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked the Camry to a local mall, where the car was parked and abandoned, and soon returned it to its grateful owners. The value of the recovered vehicle is $28,500.
