You would think that your own driveway or parking lot would be one of the safest places to park. Unfortunately, many thieves think nothing of unlawfully entering your property and stealing your vehicle. One of the great things about the LoJack® System is that the criminal cannot see it on or in your car, so, when they take your vehicle, they are taking a whole lot of trouble for themselves as well.

On April 5, 2013, the owner of a 2010 Toyota Corolla contacted the Elizabeth, New Jersey Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen. He had parked it in the lot of his apartment complex, and when he exited his building, the Corolla was gone.  The Elizabeth PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the Toyota, which was installed at Toyota of Hackensack, NJ.

A short while later, a patrol officer from the Union Township, NJ Police Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen Corolla on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle. The officer tracked the vehicle to a shopping mall on Route 22, where he found it parked and undamaged. The Toyota was soon returned to its owner.
