Two trucks, stolen from two different victims in two different Texas towns- what do they have in common? They were stolen on the same morning, both had a LoJack® unit installed, and they were tracked down by police in the same location!

On April 7th, 2013, the owner of a 2007 Ford F-350 pickup contacted the Arlington, TX Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from his residence; less than an hour later, police in Mesquite, TX, got a call from a Ford F-250 owner with the same complaint.

Both Arlington PD and Mesquite PD verified the thefts and entered the vehicles’ information into their state and federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack units concealed in both vehicles. The Ford F-350 was installed at Bob Tomes Ford in McKinney, TX, and the Ford F-250 at Town East Ford in Mesquite, TX

A short while later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the homing signals from both stolen Ford pickups on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The officers tracked both Ford pickups to an apartment complex in Hartsdale.  The F-350 was found parked on the north side of the complex, while the F-250 pickup was located on the south side. Both Ford pickups only had damage to their ignition and were soon returned to their respective owners.
