It’s always great to hear about a stolen vehicle being found thanks to the police and the LoJack® System- but when this procedure results in a second recovery as well- it’s even greater!

This incredible two-for-one recovery took place on March 20, 2013, when the owner of a Ford F-350 pickup contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the driveway of their residence. Houston P.D. verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers. This automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Ford pickup, which was installed at Gullo Ford Mercury, in Conroe, TX.

A short while later, officers from the Houston PD picked up the homing signals from the F-350 on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  They tracked the pickup to a residential area, where they found it parked in the driveway of a private residence.  The officers verified the VIN on the stolen pickup and questioned the person at the residence, who stated he did not know the person that left the pickup in his driveway. Officers advised they were going to drive the vehicle into the street, and the suspect asked “Would you like to borrow the screwdriver to start it?” At that point, he was arrested. Officers identified another stolen truck at the same location. The total value of both recovered vehicles is $65,000. The F-350 was soon returned to its owner.
