On March 20, 2013, the owner of a 2012 Honda Civic contacted the Virginia Beach Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Virginia Beach police entered the Civic’s VIN (vehicle information number)  into their crime computer, which automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the Honda, which was installed at David McDavid Honda in Houston, Texas.

Within a short period of time, officers from the Norfolk, VA Police Department picked up the signals from the stolen Honda on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles, and tracked it to the Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base, in Norfolk, VA where they located the vehicle parked and unoccupied. The undamaged vehicle was soon returned to its relieved owner.
