On March 12, 2013, the owner of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup contacted the Dinuba, CA Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. The police entered the vehicle information into their state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the truck’s LoJack® device, which was installed at Bret’s Auto Center in Dinuba, CA.

Just eight minutes later, an officer with the Dinuba PD picked up the signals from the stolen Chevrolet on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol vehicle, and tracked the vehicle to an apartment complex in Dinuba, where he spotted one suspect inside the truck and another standing nearby. Both suspects fled into an apartment with the officer in pursuit; the suspects were located in the apartment and detained. The thief was arrested, and the undamaged Silverado was soon released to its owner, who told the recovering officer that purchasing the LoJack system for his vehicle was “money well spent!”
