What’s the worst feeling you can get when you wake up in the morning? Some would say it’s being tired from lack of sleep, or finding out you’ve run out of coffee, but even worse is when you leave your home to drive to work….and your vehicle is gone! This was the dilemma facing the owner of a Dodge Caravan in Staten Island.  She had parked her van in front of her home the previous night, but in the morning, the vehicle was no longer where she had left it.  Luckily, this customer was smart enough to have a LoJack® unit installed when she bought her Caravan from Major Dodge in Long Island City, New York.

The van’s owner contacted the 122nd Precinct, who entered her vehicle’s information into their computer, automatically activating the LoJack device to send a signal for police to receive on their in-vehicle LoJack tracking systems. A short while later, officers from the Brooklyn South Auto Larceny Unit picked up on the signal and tracked the vehicle to the Parkville section of Brooklyn. The vehicle sped away but was tracked down once more to the Bensonhurst area where it was retrieved and returned to the owner with minimal damage.
