You can’t leave your vehicle unattended with the keys in it- even for a few seconds! This sad lesson was learned by the owner of a 2010 Toyota Camry in Bowie, Maryland on March 26, 2013. The owner immediately contacted the Prince George’s County Police Department to report the theft, and the vehicle’s information was immediately entered into the police computer. This action in turn activated the LoJack® unit installed in the vehicle when it was purchased at Toyota of Bowie in MD.

Within a short period of time, detectives in the Prince George’s County auto theft unit picked up the homing signals from the stolen Toyota on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their vehicles. The detectives tracked the vehicle to the Capitol Heights section of Prince George’s County, where it was found unoccupied and undamaged, and was soon returned to its happy owner. At the time of theft, the Camry was valued in excess of $15,900.
