On February 27, 2013 the owner of a 2013 Ford F-150 pickup truck contacted the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle had been taken without their permission and they believed that is was now stolen.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Ford F-150 Pickup.

A short while later, officers from Houston Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Ford pickup truck on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers began tracking the vehicle and overtook it traveling on a public street in Houston. Officers performed a felony stop and arrested the female driver after a brief struggle for felony theft, assault on an officer, and resisting arrest. The vehicle, valued at $36,500, was recovered.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the 2013 Ford F-150 on January 4, 2013 at Champion Ford in Katy, Texas.
