On January 16, 2013, the owner of a 2011 Porsche Panamera contacted the Secaucus Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen.

The Secaucus Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Porsche.

A short time later, a patrol officer from the Essex County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals coming from the stolen Porsche Panamera on the Police Tracking Computer installed in his patrol vehicle. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computer, the officer tracked the vehicle to the City of Newark, where the vehicle was recovered parked and undamaged.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the 2011 Porsche Panamera on April 11, 2012, at Jack Daniels Motors, Inc (DEX in Fair Lawn, NJ.
