LoJack Helps Orange County (FL) K-9 Deputies Recover Stolen BMW 328

On December 9, 2013, the owner of a 2012 BMW 328 discovered the vehicle missing from the valet parking lot of the hotel he had checked into on the previous day. The valet could not locate the BMW or the keys to the car. He immediately contacted the Orlando Police Department to report the vehicle stolen.

Orlando Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the BMW.

A short while later, a deputy with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen BMW on the Police Tracking Computers installed in his patrol vehicle. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the deputy tracked the vehicle to he located the BMW parked on a cul-de-sac in a private golf community on Dr. Phillips Boulevard in Orange County. The BMW was recovered with no damage and the owner was contacted.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the BMW 328 on October of 2011 at Brahman BMW.
