On January 1, 2013 the owner of a 2009 Cadillac Escalade contacted the Houston Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence during the early morning hours.

Officers with the Houston Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Cadillac Escalade.

A short while later, officers from Houston Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Cadillac Escalade on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the Escalade to the 2600 block of Marilee, where they found it parked and abandoned on a public street. The vehicle was taken to the police impound for processing.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Cadillac Escalade at David Taylor Cadillac in Houston, Texas on May 19, 2009.
