On December 19, 2012, the owner of a Mitshubishi Eclipse contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report the vehicle stolen from the 6200 block of Pioneer Drive in the northeast area of the city.

Baltimore City Police verified the theft and entered the Mitsubishi’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

A short while later, detectives from the Montgomery County Auto Theft Unit picked up the silent LoJack tracking signal on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the detectives tracked the vehicle to the 13000 block of Castle Drive in the Silver Spring area of Montgomery County, Maryland.  There, the detectives located and recovered the unoccupied Mitsubishi.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Mitshubishi at Len Stoler in Baltimore, Maryland in February of 1999.
