On the afternoon of November 10, 2012, the owner of a 2011 Toyota RAV4 contacted the New Orleans Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen from in front of her residence in Gentilly.

The New Orleans Police Department verified the theft and entered the Toyota’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

A short while later, a Louisiana State Trooper picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Toyota RAV4 on the Police Tracking Computer installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the trooper tracked and located the vehicle parked in a storage lot in Kenner, Louisiana. The Toyota RAV4 was recovered in great shape.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the RAV4 in November of 2011 at Mike Calvert Toyota of Houston, Texas.
