On November 12, 2012, the owner of a 2003 Infiniti FX4 contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from the city of San Diego.

San Diego Police verified the theft and entered the Infiniti’s information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the vehicle.

Within minutes, officers from the San Diego Police Department picked up the silent LoJack homing signals from the stolen Infiniti on the Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computers, the officers tracked the vehicle to a resort on Vacation Road in San Diego.

The owner was very happy when San Diego Police contacted him to recover the vehicle, which was found abandoned and undamaged.  The vehicle was valued at approximately $26,825.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the Infiniti FX4 on May 3, 2004 at Hoehn Infiniti in Carlsbad, California.
