On Thursday, October 25, 2012, the manager of the Sunbelt Rental Company in Upper Southampton, Pennsylvania, determined that a 2011 Bobcat Loader, with several attachments, had been stolen. The manager called 911 and Bucks County Police Radio dispatched an Officer from the Upper Southampton Police to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the manager, conducted an initial investigation, and prepared all the proper reports associated with the incident. The officer then entered the Bobcat’s information into the state and federal crime computer systems, which automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the equipment.

Minutes later, an officer with the Bensalem Police Deloapartment picked up the Bobcat’s silent LoJack homing signal in the area of a new housing development on Dogwood Road in Bensalem Township. Following the directional and signal strength cues on the LoJack computer installed in his patrol car, the Bensalem officer located the stolen Bobcat, parked behind a home that was under construction. The officer notified Bensalem Investigators and the Bobcat, along with the accessories, were recovered and returned to the Sunbelt Company.

This incident remains under police investigation.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in the 2011 Bobcat Loader on May 27, 2011 at Sunbelt Rentals in Upper Southampton, Pennsylvania.
