In the early morning hours of October 5, 2012, the owner of a Honda Prelude contacted the Everett Police Department to report the vehicle stolen. According to the owner, the vehicle was taken sometime during the previous night from the 700 block of 103rd Place SE.  Everett Police verified the theft and entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack transponder concealed in the Honda.

A short while later, a deputy with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office received the Honda’s silent LoJack homing signal on the Police Tracking Computer installed in his patrol car.  The deputy followed the directional and audible cues from the LoJack computer and located the car just four minutes later.  The vehicle, valued at $3,000, was abandoned in the 11000 block of 16th Avenue SE in Everett.

The LoJack Vehicle Recovery System was installed in this Honda Prelude  in October of 2004 when it was purchased as a used car from Klein Honda.  This is the third time that this vehicle has been stolen – in 2005 and 2007. In both incidents, it was recovered by police using LoJack technology.
